RTI :
Right to Information Act empowers every citizen to seek any information, take notes, extracts or certified copies of documents or records, take certified samples of material. RTI stands for Right to Information and has been given the status of a fundamental right under Article 19(1) of the Constitution. Article 19 (1) under which every citizen has freedom of speech and expression and have the right to know how the government works, what role does it play, what are its functions and so on. This section facilitates citizen about PIO’s & APIO’s of the District.

Aims and Objectives of the Organisation:
To provide basic civic service to the inhabitant of the Municipal area.

Brief History and Background for its establishment :
The Municipal was formed on dt 13.08.2001 vide Notification No. 30800 dt 13.08.01 of Govt of Orissa in H&UD Deptt. Prior to this it was a Notified Area Council w.e.f 14.03.1972 notified vide Notification No. 7271 Dt. 13.03.1972 of the Self same Govt.
Organisation Charts :
The Council consists 21 Nos. of elected councilors along with elected Local M.P. & M.L.A or their representative. Among the councilors one is being elected by the as Chairperson and another as Vice-Chairperson. One Executive Officer is being posted by the Govt. This Municipality is having one Homoeopathic Medical Officer, 3 Jr.Clerks, 1 Junior Enginner,1 Work Sarkar, 2 Nos. of Peon. One watchman, 17 Nos. of tax-Collectors, 12 Nos. of Sweepers, One light checker and a part time Municipal Engineer.

To execute the decisions’ of the Council.
What does right to information mean ?

5. Obtain information in form of printouts, diskettes, floppies, tapes, video cassettes or in any other electronic mode or through printouts.
Who are the Public Information officers(PIO) ?
PIOs are officers designated by the public authorities in all administrative units or offices under it to provide information to the citizens requesting for information under the Act. Any officer, whose assistance has been sought by the PIO for the proper discharge of his or her duties, shall render all assistance and for the purpose of contraventions of the provisions of this Act, such other officer shall be treated as a PIO.
